2K and Gearbox have announced the Season Pass for Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel, and it looks rather a lot like the pre-release DLC info for Borderlands 2.
By that, I mean that Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel basically appears to have the exact same deal going on. There’ll be a Season Pass for $29.99 USD which will bundle together four forthcoming $9.99 DLC packs, and pre-ordering the game itself (Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel, that is, not Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel: The Pre-DLC Season Pass) will also net you the Shock Drop Slaughter Pit “bonus content.” I’m going to assume that the Shock Drop Slaughter Pit will be quite a lot like the pre-order bonus Creature Slaughterdome from Borderlands 2, so I wouldn’t really suggest that as much of an incentive for pre-ordering. Creature Slaughterdome was a bit naff.
So basically, no surprises. Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel will have a Season Pass. It will comprise four pieces of DLC, and price-wise the Season Pass is buy-three-get-one-free. You will get a piece of bonus content with the word “Slaughter” in the name if you pre-order the game itself. There may or may not be other bits of DLC, a la the Headhunter Packs, bonus characters, and cosmetics, but nobody’s saying anything about that just yet. Move along.
On the plus side, it got us that nice piece of art up there. So that’s something!
Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel is due out on 14 October in North America and 17 October everywhere else.
