The first game was embraced by many fans because of its interesting approach that reminded many people of UFO: Enemy Unknown (released in 1994). Like the the previous game, Xenonauts 2 will be released via Early Access with a price cut, in order to lure more gamers who are interested in getting the title to purchase the early version and help the studio out with the whole development process.

The developers have already announced that the series will move from 2D sprites to 3D graphics and they will rework the looks of aliens, the core gameplay and the air combat as a whole. They want to make the enemies more “challenging” and more “intelligent”, in order to keep the Xenonauts 2 even more interesting in a brand new setting that takes place during an alternate timeline in which the aliens will arrive during the Cold War.

So, when will this intriguing concept be ready for “sale”? Goldhawk Interactive revealed that they want to bring Xenonauts 2 for PC in 2017, but they will be able to share more details about the game during 2016.
