XDefiant Beta: How to equip Skins

What's the deal with skins in XDefiant?

XDefiant is currently in its open Beta and players are wondering how to equip Skins. It’s one thing to have the best AK-47 build in the game but it’s another to show it off with a great Skin. Here’s everything you need to know about Skins in the XDefiant Beta.

How to equip Skins in XDefiant

As you play XDefiant, you’ll notice that you’re unlocking weapon Skins as you use the best weapons. Every weapon has Skin options, the question is: how do you equip them? That’s the fun part, you don’t.

For some reason, Ubisoft has deactivated the ability to equip Skins during the XDefiant Beta. While you are unlocking weapon skins, you can’t equip them. We guess that Ubisoft did this so players can just focus on getting and equipping the best attachments. It’s not the best reason, but it’s possibly the only thing that makes sense.

When the XDefiant Beta concludes and the game officially launches, weapon Skins will be useable just like in any other FPS. However, for now, weapon skins are off-limits.

Will the Skins carry over to the full release of XDefiant?

Your next question might be if you can use the Skins you unlock now in the full release of XDefiant. Luckily, the answer to this is yes.

As you play the XDefiant Beta, you’ll unlock weapon Skins as you use a specific gun. These weapon Skins can’t be equipped now, but they don’t disappear either. When XDefiant launches globally, you’ll be able to hop right into the game, equip your weapon Skins that you grinded for, and show off to the newbies.

It’s a bummer and an enigma why Skins aren’t available during the XDefiant Beta, but it is what it is. At least the weapon Skins you earn now save and carry over to the XDefiant full release. The best you can do now is continue to grind for those weapon Skins and enjoy them later.
