Publisher Bigben Interactive and developer Milestone have announced that WRC FIA World Rally Championship 4 will be racing onto your PCs in September. And no, I’m never calling it by that name again. WRC 4 will do fine, thanks.
As to what’s actually new in WRC 4Â – well, that’s a bit ambiguous. Apparently “loyalty to the license” is important, as is “accessibility for first-time players”, “a dynamic and competitive online game mode”, and “an exciting game experience.” Which sounds like fluff.
They have said that it’ll feature new lighting conditions, new weather effects, and a new Career mode, but… well, details are a bit thin on the ground. I suppose we’ll hear more specifics soon.
As far as I’m aware, this is the first time Milestone have partnered up with Bigben. We’ll see how ripe the fruits of that partnership are when WRC 4 launches in October. (Oh, and the screenshot above is from WRC 3, as there are currently no assets for this newly-announced title. Weep.)
