Wargaming are set to release the next update for World of Warplanes tomorrow (6 March) taking the game to v1.2.
Already live in Russia today, the 1.2 update is the first step to expanding the game which was one my my gripes with the game when I reviewed it last year.
This update now adds a set of combat missions and rewards can be earned for completing these. Wargaming has also added an overhauled post-battle screen with more stats and the ability to record and playback your aerial battles.
New players to the game can also use the new matchmaker algorithm, the so-called “Sandbox”, which allows them to learn the basics of flight without having to take on more seasoned pilots.
Like World of Tanks, World of Warplanes will continually evolve so this patch also features more tweaks to balancing and game mechanics. There’s also reports of a significant performance increase so that’s a bonus.
The game is free to play so if you fancy taking it for a spin head to the site.
