World of Warcraft: Shadowlands live stream event rescheduled

World of Warcraft: Shadowlands live stream event rescheduled

We don't have overly long to wait.
This article is over 4 years old and may contain outdated information

Earlier this month, we reported that the June 9 World of Warcraft: Shadowlands live stream event had been postponed. At the time, Blizzard’s statement was that more important voices needed to be heard. This event has now been rescheduled for July 8 at noon ET. The live stream event will be with World of Warcraft Executive Producer John Hight and Game Director Ion Hazzikostas, and it will be hosted on both Twitch and YouTube.

Shadowlands live stream reveals for July

There has been some speculation about what might be revealed at this event. While all four of the World of Warcraft: Shadowlands leveling zones have now been on the alpha, players haven’t yet visited the max level zone, the Maw. We also don’t yet have a release date for the new expansion or any news on Shadowlands entering beta.

Blizzard has been surprisingly open with development of its new expansion this time around, and we’ve been seeing more interviews being organized than ever before. They also seem to have made a point of taking on feedback — one noticeable example being the response to Torments in Torghast. Alpha testers have been almost universal in their criticism of Torments creating a time limit, as the tower is more fun without one. Blizzard listened and acted accordingly — in stark contrast to the response to criticism of Azerite armor during the Battle for Azeroth alpha and beta testing, which felt all but ignored.

Considering how open Blizzard has been with information on World of Warcraft: Shadowlands already, it makes sense that it might be holding on to something special for its live stream reveal event. A launch date would certainly be welcome. Hopefully, we’ll also catch a glimpse at legendaries and Soulbinds, of which both systems are going to be fundamental to how Shadowlands winds up feeling. Stay tuned!
