While Dragon’s Dogma 2 looks incredible, will it have multiplayer co-op available? This is the question many gamers have when looking at a single-player title.
Many single-player games also feature a co-op mode, so is this the same for this Capcom game? We’ll let you know below.
Dragon’s Dogma 2: Is it co-op multiplayer?
The original Dragon’s Dogma was solely single-player, but what about its sequel? Unfortunately, Dragon’s Dogma 2 will not feature any multiplayer co-op mode. None of the trailers have mentioned a co-op feature, simply because playing on your own will still feel like a multiplayer experience.
Why is that? Well, there is a Pawn system in Dragon’s Dogma 2. The Pawn system is like a party system that allows you to travel and fight in combat with a companion of your creation. You can have three other companions with you for a four-person party. Each Pawn is controlled by AI.

Your Pawns will become important companions throughout your playthrough, and each one can have a specialization. For example, one of your Pawns can have the ability to translate languages for you.
Although this may sound a little lonely if you’re used to co-op games, hopefully, the Pawns will make up for the lack of a multiplayer mode. And since you can fully customize your Pawns, you can personalize your single-player experience.
Who knows, maybe in the future Capcom will add a multiplayer mode to Dragon’s Dogma 2. But for now, it’s strictly single-player with the Pawns feature to make up for it. Now that you know about co-op, you may be wondering about the Dragon’s Dogma 2 release date.
