What if I told you back on December 10, 2020, that Cyberpunk 2077 was going to receive the No Man’s Sky treatment own its mistakes, and make a huge comeback? Surprised? Me too. Cyberpunk 2077 has experienced everything a developer would never want to experience. However, time and dedication have converted this game into what was envisioned originally. Now, just like with other big game releases, it is time to ask the age-old question: Will Cyberpunk 2077 be on Game Pass? Let’s find out.
Is Cyberpunk 2077 2.0 on Game Pass?
While I would enjoy Cyberpunk 2077 being available on Game Pass, especially due to its massive 2.0 update, the truth is that Cyberpunk 2077 is not and, for the foreseeable future, will not be on Game Pass. There have been a lot of rumors regarding its inclusion, but ultimately, CD Projekt Red has not made any announcement whatsoever, and since the 2.0 update has been released, then your only chance to play it is by purchasing the game. Chances are that you already purchased but forgot about it due to its launch debacle. At least that’s my case.
Remember that Cyberpunk 2077 2.0 update will only be available for PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PlayStation 5. Both PlayStation 4 and Xbox One will not be receiving the 2.0 update nor the Phantom Liberty DLC.
What about Phantom Liberty? Will it be on Game Pass?
Just like the base game, while available on Xbox Series X/S, the Phantom Liberty won’t be available on Game Pass at launch or post-launch. At least not for the moment. Whether both Cyberpunk 2077 and Phantom Liberty will be available someday in Game Pass is unknown. Remember that The Witcher 3 was available in Game Pass for a very long period before exiting the service in 2021.

Let’s hope this new revamped version of Cyberpunk and Phantom Liberty eventually sees its way to the Game Pass subscription service. The 2.0 update acts basically as a re-launch for the game. Many things such as the AI, UI, skill trees, and everything in between have received a major overhaul. It is only natural for CD Projekt Red to want as many players playing this new version of the game. Especially due to the less-than-stellar reputation that Cyberpunk 2077 gathered after its initial release. A service such as Game Pass could further help the spread, so let’s hope it comes eventually. If not, then, time to break the piggy bank.
