You might already know who she is if you’re familiar with all the characters in the Spider-Man universes, but if you want to know who Cindy is, I’ve got you covered.

There was a lot of setting up for Marvel’s Spider-Man 3 happening at the end of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, and the post-credits scene featuring Cindy was a big reveal. Who is Cindy? What does her appearance in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 mean? Is she at all related to Gwen or Spider-Woman? All of that and more will be answered in this guide.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2: Who is Cindy?

At the end of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, Rio Morales invites a man named Albert Moon over. He brings his daughter, Cindy Moon. Those who knew had their minds blown at that moment while the rest of us were excited but confused.

Cindy Moon is a superhero in Spider-Man named Silk. She isn’t related to Gwen or Spider-Woman or even Moon Knight. She is a Korean-American New Yorker who, according to the comics, got bit by the same radioactive spider that Peter Parker did.

Cindy Moon, or Silk, was created in 2014 by Dan Slott and Humberto Ramos. The villains she has fought include Black Cat and a new villain called Dragonclaw. Her powers include all of Peter Parker’s, but she is faster yet less strong and has a stronger Spidey Sense, appropriately named Silk Sense.

I really wanted Spider-Woman or Gwen from Spiderverse to come to Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 (I still think a Spider-Gwen DLC set in her Spiderverse would be unbelievable) or at least be teed up for Marvel’s Spider-Man 3, but honestly, Silk is even better.

Insomniac Games has done incredibly well turning lesser-known Spider-Man villains into main stays, I’m looking at you, Mr. Negative, so odds are they are going to do an amazing job with Silk. Do yourself a favor and look up illustrations of Silk in comics and fan designs. Her design is really amazing.

We aren’t sure if Insomniac Games will follow the comics with Silk, but it’s a really good bet that Silk will appear, and hopefully be playable, in Marvel’s Spider-Man 3. Since Peter retired at the end of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, I think we’ll be playing as Miles and Cindy in Marvel’s Spider-Man 3… and I can’t wait.
