The Light Dragon offers plenty of materials that are used to upgrade the new Champion’s Leathers armor, as well as the Tunic of Memories. But the way you get some of these materials is a bit elusive at first. And since seeing the Light Dragon is a fairly rare occurrence, you want to make the most of it when it shows up. So in this quick guide, we’ll go through how to gather Light Dragon Horns in Tears of the Kingdom.
Tears of the Kingdom: How to get Light Dragon Horns
To kick things off, you need to make sure you’re at the point in the game where the Light Dragon is easiest to land on. Unlike the three other Dragons roaming Hyrule, the Light Dragon flies very high above Hyrule. According to plenty of research done by the community, it seems like the Light Dragon drops its height after you save the Great Deku Tree. So it’s best to go and do that first before attempting to gather some of its materials.
As for where the Light Dragon appears, it’s a bit more complicated than its fellow sky serpents. The other three dragons all stick to particular regions in Hyrule. But the Light Dragon’s path takes it all across Hyrule in a big wobbly circle, so finding it can be a pain. It’s one of those things where if you try to search for the dragon it’ll never appear. And it’s only with the most unfortunate timing it decides to rear its head. That might just be my experience, but either way, it’s a pain to find.
Once you do find the Light Dragon in Tears of the Kingdom, getting a Horn is a very easy process. All you need to do is strike its horn with either a melee weapon or an arrow. I’d recommend hitting it with an arrow for greater accuracy. Plus you may accidentally strike its body with a melee weapon which rewards a Scale instead. And you can only get one of each every time you see the Light Dragon. So you’ll want probably want to save the game before you strike the Dragon in case you mess up.
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is now available for Nintendo Switch.
