Where to find the Valo System in Starfield

Not the greatest UI choice...

In Starfield, there are many, many planets for you to explore and admire. And despite them all hanging out in the dark abyss of space, your trusty map makes it easy to travel to each of them. At least it should, right? As directed by the Freestar Collective, players may need to head over to the Valo system to find HopeTown but will find out that the Valo system seems impossible to find. Fret not, for the poor UI choice of the game has been figured out. Here’s how to get to Valo in Starfield.

Where is Valo in Starfield?

Valo is a level 5 system that you’ll find only a short distance from Alpha Centauri. However, all you’ll probably see when you open the map is Sol, Alpha Centauri, and Narion, with no Valo to be found. This is due to a poor UI choice from the game, but you must first select Narion, and Valo will appear underneath it. I guess Valo and Narion are just so close together that they couldn’t get two spots on the map.

It doesn’t really make sense for Bethesda to do this, and it’s caused a lot of frustration among players who wouldn’t think that the game would pair up systems into the same dot, especially considering that solar systems should realistically be extremely far apart. My theory on why they’ve done this is that Valo and Narion share the same Y-axis, and so are still far apart, but from our perspective, take up the same space. This could make logical sense, however, it’s a confusing and inconsistent idea that really could have been adjusted for the ease of its players.

Valo system planets and moons

The Valo system benefits from five planets and six moons, so there’s plenty to explore. Here is a list of the planets and their moons:

  • Lumos
    • Kindi
    • Virum
    • Golga
    • Shorun
  •  Polvo
    • Miatha
    • Navacci
  • Cantra
  • Prax
  • Hillex

Polvo is probably the only planet you’ll find interesting in Valo, however, as it’s home to HopeTown and HopeTech, which is what you’ll need to continue your quest for the Freestar Collective. The rest of the planets aren’t exactly interesting, but still fit for exploration.
