The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom features plenty of classic armor sets. But it’s hard not to get particularly attached to the Hero of Time outfit. Link’s classic attire from Ocarina of Time fits perfectly into this incarnation of Hyrule. And it’s a set that’s surprisingly easy to get. You don’t even need to have the amiibo this time around. Here’s how you can find the Hero of Time armor set in Tears of the Kingdom.
Tears of the Kingdom: How to find the Hero of Time armor
As I just mentioned, you could use the Ocarina of Time Link amiibo to get the Hero of Time armor. However, since you can only use it once per day, getting all three pieces is a pain. So, even if you do have the amiibo, this guide should still prove useful. The only tricky part of this hunt is that it requires some exploration in the Depths. If you’ve already explored a fair bit of the Depths, then all is good. But if you’ve yet to venture down there, you may find it harder to follow along. My advice is to cover some ground in the Depths first, so you know what to expect down there.
Cap of Time
We’re starting this off with the hardest item to achieve. It’s not difficult because of any tough enemies, though. The Cap of Time is just a pain to reach, and you’ll need to travel a long way in the Depths to get to it. You’ve got two options as far as access goes. You can enter the Drenan Highlands Chasm located to the left of Thyplo Ruins and head west. That, or head down the Hyrule Ridge Chasm and head Northwest. The latter option will require you to walk a lot further, but it’s the Chasm that most players will have access to early in the game.
Once you’ve made the journey to the approximate location, we’re then headed to Sturnida Lavafalls, which is right where my current location is on the map above. The chest containing the Cap of Time is located on a small pillar just beside a flow of lava. All you need to do is glide over to the chest, open it up, and you’ll have the Cap of Time.
Tunic of Time
Luckily the second part of the Hero of Time set is a much easier piece to locate. We’re heading over to the Lindor Canyon Mine now, which is a tiny location east of the Abandoned Hebra Mine. The easiest way to reach this is by heading down the Hyrule Ridge Chasm and going east. You should find the Tikanur and the Nabahi-Ikat Lightroot along the way. The chest is sitting in a small building that’s hard to miss.
Trousers of Time
The Trousers of Time are also very easy to find in comparison to the Cap of Time. For this one we’re heading to the western section of the Depths below the Gerudo Highlands. There are multiple Chasms you can use to enter this area from the Gerudo Highlands, but the one at the Gerudo Summit will get you the closest. Once you’re in the Depths just head to my location on the map above. Here you’ll find the Gerudo Canyon Mine, and you’ll spot the chest in the same sort of building that housed the Tunic of Time.
With that, you’ve collected all three pieces of the Hero of Time set in Tears of the Kingdom. It’s one of many classic sets, joined by nostalgic treats like the Fierce Deity armor, and Dark Link outfit.
