Where to find Shroud Wood in Enshrouded

Turn that Shroud upside down.

To make a Glider in Enshrouded, you need Shroud Wood. Enshrouded doesn’t tell you where to go to find Shroud Wood which is why I made this guide to help you out, map locations included.

As the name suggests, the only place you can find Shroud Wood is in Shrouds. Shroud Wood itself is obtained from chopping down any tree in a Shroud.

In the beginning, the best place to find Shroud Wood is in the Shroud in the valley of Braelyn Bridge. I found a few solid trees here that, when cut down, yielded Shroud Wood. Keep an eye on your timer and travel east through the Shroud to find more Shroud Wood trees.

What do Shrouds look like?

Shrouds are notated on the map as big blobs of blue. Any area that has blue is a Shroud and most shrouds contain trees. Without the best Skills, you only have five minutes to do everything you need to in a Shroud. When the timer runs out, you immediately die.

How to recover items in a Shroud

If you do run out of time in a Shroud and die, it’s not the end of the world. You’ll drop all your resources but keep your armor and weapons. Your tombstone is marked on the map which is very helpful. Simply go back to the spot where you died, open your tombstone, collect everything, and get out of there. Thankfully, Enshrouded is forgiving when you die.

Before you jump headfirst into a Shroud, I always recommend scanning it from a safe, high-up spot. By doing that, you’ll easily locate where you need to go which minimizes the amount of time you spend in a Shroud. Before going into a Shroud, always have a game plan.

You may be getting to a point in the game where you need better weapons, armor, and rings. If that’s the case, pause your Shroud Wood hunt and focus on acquiring better gear.
