Throughout this diving adventure and restaurant simulator, you’ll not only be catching fish, but collecting crafting materials. Anything from wood, rope, and glass can become useful in Dave the Diver once you unlock weapon upgrades. In the Blue Hole, you’ll also find plenty of ore veins, some of them containing Opal. We’ll explain where you can find Opal in Dave the Diver.
Dave the Diver: Opal ore locations
Not only is Opal used for certain weapon upgrades, but it’s also needed for specific side quests. A Blacksmith in the Sea People Village asked me to find him three pieces of Opal, which I hadn’t found yet at the time. Where you can find Opal in Dave the Diver is around 200 meters below surface in the Blue Hole Depths. To get this deep into the Depths, make sure you grab a UV Light from one of the yellow boxes. This will allow you to pass through the Tube Coral and get deeper underwater.
You’ll know Opal when you see it by its distinctive coloration. It’s a blue rock with other colors dabbled throughout. You’re going to need a special tool to mine Opal though, it isn’t the same as getting Copper. Typically, around Opal and Amethyst ore, you’ll find yellow boxes containing pickaxes inside them. Grab one, and it’ll take on your melee weapon spot.
Using a pickaxe is the only way to get these ores. Swim up to the Opal, and hit it with your pickaxe. Like most ore veins, you should be able to get three Opal just from one vein, which is enough for the side quest. Opal isn’t very common in the Blue Hole Depths, so you’ll probably only find one or two veins per dive. Also, while you’re at it, you should probably get some Amethyst with that pickaxe. It’s also in the Depths, but it looks like a purple crystal.
