In The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, you will find all sorts of wildlife that has it in for you. Fortunately, you can play dozens or even hundreds of hours without having to do battle with the fearsome sand worm, Molduga. However, eventually you may feel the need to confront the creature. Here is our guide telling you where to find Molduga in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.
Tears of the Kingdom – where to find Molduga
The Molduga lives throughout the Gerudo Desert region. It spends most of its time underground, until one thing or another causes it to burst forth and attack. If you are trying to spot it from a distance, you may have difficulty because it has not yet found tempting prey. And if it surprises you by attacking when you’re not ready, you’ll need to quickly brush up on how to defeat Molduga. Otherwise, you may not last long.
When you’re finally ready to seek out Molduga, consult the map screenshot above. I’ve marked it with four numbers corresponding to the locations where I’ve encountered the creature. Keep in mind that it moves quickly. The points indicated are approximate. Your controller should vibrate when it is nearby.
- Northwest of Miryotanog Shrine, to the west of the shifting sands in Toruma Dunes, look for an NPC named Isha. She is stranded on some rocks. Use those same rocks to safely battle Molduga.
- Head southeast from Kudanisar Shrine, or north from Gerudo Village, while keeping to the west of the North Gerudo Ruins. You will find it patrolling the large, open expanse.
- Look in the expansive area a short distance east from Karahatag Shrine. If you don’t find it due east, turn north and you may see it approaching.
- Travel north from Siwakama Shrine, not far south from the East Gerudo Chasm. At the base of those cliffs, a Molduga patrols.
Before you go hunting Molduga, prepare yourself with plenty of weapons. Gear to bring includes a bow and lots of arrows and Bomb Flowers. You’ll fare best if you occupy the high ground and lure Molduga to you, rather than letting it find you first while you’re running along the sand. Consider clearing the Lightning Temple, so you don’t have to deal with the sandstorm.
