Where to find Hylian rice, fresh milk, and wild greens in Tears of the Kingdom (TOTK)

Hylian rice, fresh milk, and wild greens, here I come!

If you want to complete the Gloom-Borne Illness Side Quest in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, located in Kakariko Village, you need to know where to get Hylian rice, fresh milk, and “wild greens.” These ingredients aren’t easy to come by, and while Lasli gives you a general idea of where you can find these ingredients, I’ll help you know exactly how to get Hylian rice, fresh milk, and wild greens in Tears of the Kingdom.

How to complete the Gloom-Borne Illness Side Quest in Tears of the Kingdom

To complete the Gloom-Borne Illness Side Quest in Tears of the Kingdom, you need to find Hylian rice, fresh milk, and wild greens. Luckily, Hylian rice and fresh milk aren’t too difficult to get. However, wild greens aren’t a real item in TOTK which makes finding it a problem.

Hylian rice location in TOTK — Where to find Hylian rice

Hylian rice is available in many places in Tears of the Kingdom. You can buy Hylian rice at the general store at Lookout Landing and Hateno Village. However, the place Lasli recommends and the place that I went to get Hylian rice is the traveling merchant west of Kakariko Village.

If you follow the road west of Kakariko Village, you’ll eventually run into the traveling merchant. He sells Hylian rice and fresh milk, which is why I recommend going to him. You’ll need 12 Rupees each for Hylian rice and fresh milk which is why I recommend learning the infinite Rupees trick.

Fresh milk is located in the same places Hylian rice is. Again, I recommend finding the traveling merchant on the road west of Kakariko Village since he is close, has cheap prices, and isn’t hard to find. Just stick to the road and you’ll eventually come across the traveling merchant.

Wild greens location in TOTK — Where to find wild greens

Wild greens are easily the hardest ingredient to find for this quest because wild greens aren’t a real item in TOTK. The real item you are looking for is Sundelions.

The best place to find Sundelions is on sky islands. You might already have some from exploring Great Sky Island, but if you need more, you can travel back to Great Sky Island and look around the grassy parts for Sundelions.

Once you have all three ingredients, you can cook them all together to make Sunny Veggie Porridge which you can use to complete the Gloom-Borne Illness Side Quest. You can also make more Sunny Veggie Porridge as not only restores three hearts, but also restores three hearts lost to the gloom.
