Where to find Dammon, the Infernal Mechanic, in Baldur’s Gate 3

Helping Karlach out.

Baldur’s Gate 3 has a bunch of characters for you to meet and interact with, some of them influencing the plot, and some of them offering new side activities for you to do. A character important to romancing Karlach is Dammon, the Infernal Mechanic. This character is actually a key part of Karlach’s personal quest as he is the only character that can help you use Infernal Iron to help Karlach. He can, however, be a bit tricky to find in-game, so here’s our guide on where to find Dammon in Baldur’s Gate 3.

Where to find Dammon in BG3

You can find Dammon at multiple points during the game, as long as you complete certain parameters. Dammon also moves around throughout each Act, which makes him hard to find. But, if you choose to side with Minthara and destroy the Tiefling camp and Druid Grove, you’ll kill Dammon and not be able to use his services to help Karlach.

Dammon location in Act 1

At first, you can find him hanging out in The Hollow section of the Emerald Grove, where he’ll be plying his trade. You can bring Karlach here in Act 1 to be able to start her companion quest. But be warned, if the Tieflings have left the Grove, Dammon will also have gone, too, as I found out myself by playing.

According to some research, you can also accidentally kill Dammon if you let the Goblins invade the Emerald Grove, or don’t solve the Goblins issue before they depart, as he’ll meet his end on the way to their next destination.

Dammon location in Act 2

If you didn’t kill Dammon, you’ll find him in Act 2 in the Last Light Inn. Go to the workshop building on the north side and you’ll encounter Dammon.

Dammon location in Act 3

Once you head out to Baldur’s Gate to start Act 3, you can find Dammon at the Forge of the Nine which is in the city of Baldur’s Gate.

What does Dammon do?

Dammon is a blacksmith who sells a lot of really great armor and weapons, but Dammon’s primary use is to use Infernal Iron to calm Karlach’s fiery engine of a heart. The more Infernal Iron you find and give to Dammon to use, the closer you get to romancing Karlach.
