In The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, you come across all sorts of animals and insects. They tend to scamper away as you get close, and for good cause: your main reason to interact with them is to find ingredients for recipes and elixirs. Sticky Lizards are one especially useful ingredient. Here is our guide telling you where to find and farm Sticky Lizards in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.
Tears of the Kingdom – where to find and farm Sticky Lizard
The Sticky Lizard is an ideal ingredient in elixirs that allow you to climb cliff walls without getting washed away by rain. For more information about that recipe, see our guide telling how to make Sticky Elixir.
Now that you know what to use them for, there is still the matter of finding lizards to go in the pot. While they can appear all over Hyrule, there are some places where they’re more numerous.
To find and farm Sticky Lizard, search local cave environments. The Hyrule Compendium notes you can find them in Hyrule Caves. However, this does not refer to any one location.
Faron is one of the best regions to find Sticky Lizard. They appear commonly in the various ruins along Dracozu Lake and Dracozu River, which lie south of the Spring of Courage and southeast of Popla Foothills Skyview Tower. First, fast travel to Jiukoum Shrine. Then drop down to the lake’s level to explore the base of the nearby stone tower. I’ve always found two lizards hanging around in this area. Next, head south and look for lit openings on either side of the water. Wear the Rubber Armor to protect yourself from wildlife (if you don’t have it yet, here’s how to get the Rubber Armor set). The local monsters prefer lightning-based attacks.
Sticky Lizards also appear in other caves scattered throughout Hyrule, but they’re not typically as easy to farm. In other locations, you’ll often find them right near the entrance. If you’re watching for them, they tend to stand out against the darker interior background colors. Thankfully, you can approach them in a crouch and get very near. If you try to just walk up to them, they’ll usually scamper away and possibly elude your grasp.
One final location to look is beneath Lookout Landing. After you clear the first of any of the four Regional Phenomena locations, a hole appears in a wall near where Jerrin has been sweeping. Crouch down to enter that hole. Explore the area beyond the opening and break through weak rock walls to reach a low chamber below a Like Like monster. You will find as many as four Sticky Lizards in the same small room.
