Phase 2 is coming soon.

World of Warcraft Classic has been undergoing one of its best stretches in its history, and it happens to coincide with the recent release of Season of Discovery. WoW Classic SoD: Phase 2 Release date confirmed

Season of Discovery has been the first major change to the vanilla edition of WoW since it was released in 2004, and most of this has come in the form of Class Runes. These have allowed players to experiment with new roles such as a tanking Warlock.

While the level cap is only 25 at the onset of SoD, this has been a good starting point for most players, but it’s quite obvious the fandom is yearning for more content, and it’ll be coming soon.

Blizzard has now announced that SoD Phase 2 is going to go live on February 8, and it’s also going to implement a ton of new features for players to seek out.

WoW Classic SoD Phase 2: What’s coming?

Players are going to be able to look forward to an ample amount of new content within the new Phase, and Blizzard has outlined the following additions.

  • Level cap increased from 25-40
  • Talent points awarded up until 31
  • Gnomeregan raid dungeon
  • New runes
  • New talents

All of these are pleasant changes coming to Classic, and we’re interested to see if the brand-new runes are going to open up more playstyles for classes we know and love.

The new Gnomeregan raid dungeon is also interesting, as we’ve seen the current one, Blackfathom Depths, be an excellent addition to the game. It’s usually only reserved for max-level where players get to experience the true raiding environment. So it’s nice to see it available at level 25.

Not only do we have Phase 2 of SoD coming, but we also have the last raid of Wrath of the Lich King Classic premiering in a few weeks, alongside retail’s new patch, Seeds of Renewal, releasing on February 16.
