The Pals of Palworld have many Work Suitabilities, which include Gathering and Transport. If you think about it, you may conclude that those jobs are virtually the same, yet some Pals have both. They are, in fact, very different, and both are much needed.
What is Transport in Palworld?
Pals with the Transport Work Suitability in Palworld will pick up objects around the base and store them in the closest appropriate container.
Stone mined from deposits, crops farmed from Plantations, and even items dropped from fallen raiders will all get picked up by a Pal that can Transport items.
Once they’ve picked something up, they’ll find the nearest container, which will typically be a Storage Chest. If they’re hauling a food item, they’ll instead take it to the Feed Box, so you don’t have to worry about keeping that stocked.
Pals that have higher levels of Transport can pick up more things at once, making them much more efficient at clearing the base.
For organizational purposes, and Pal ease, it would be wise to place a container next to every station where a Pal may pick something up. However, it may not be wise to do this with the Feed Box if the Plantations or Ranches aren’t conveniently accessible for your working Pals
So, if Transport is the moving of goods, then what’s Gathering?
What is Gathering in Palworld?
In Palworld, Gathering does not relate to the herding of resources, as you may expect, but relates to one of the steps in farming on a plantation.
When running a Plantation of any sort, you’ll need a few skills to keep it automated. First, you’ll need Pals with the Planting work ability to sow the seeds. Then, you’ll need a Pal with the Watering skill to water the crop. After the crop has grown, which doesn’t take too long, they’ll need to be harvested.
This is where Gathering comes in. Pals with the Gathering trait can harvest crops. It then takes a Pal that can Transport goods to take those crops to a Feed Box.
The higher level a Pal is in Gathering, the quicker they accomplish this task.
Now that you’re square with these differences, why don’t you learn how to assign a Pal a task in Palworld?
