GTA Online: What is the Salvage Yard

It’s not often this late into a game cycle that we’re getting brand new content for players to dive into, and this is surprisingly the case when it comes to GTA Online and the new Chop Shop update. While most players are going to be concerned with the new vehicles or the battle rifle, there’s a brand-new feature and activity called the Salvage Yard.

This will be held by Yusuf, and serves as a ‘front’ for some illegal activities that you will get into within the new update. Players will need to acquire special vehicles from certain locations around the map and bring them back to the five Salvage Yard locations scattered around Los Santos.

All locations of the Salvage Yard are as follows, alongside how much each one of them will cost to acquire.

  • La Puerta – $2,690,000
  • Strawberry – $2,570,000
  • Murrieta Heights – $2,420,000
  • Shady Shores – $2,030,000
  • Paleto Bay – $1,620,000

While this may seem easy at first glance, you’re going to have to perform some new robberies in the form of Salvage Yard robberies, which Rockstar has noted the following.

“Each robbery entails scoping out some initial intel, completing Preps and new Freemode Tasks, and culminates in a high-speed Finale.”

Furthermore, these are also going to have their own unique daily challenges and other forms of progression for players to unlock.

“They come with their own slate of Daily Challenges, Pause Menu Awards, and Career Progress challenges for players.”

So, there’s quite a bit of content within the new update, and these can be assumed to be like heists, but without the major pay-off that we’re accustomed to.

Be sure to dive into GTA Online and check out this new high-octane form of activity for players to complete.
