Along your lengthy playthrough of Baldur’s Gate 3, you’ll recruit quite a few talented adventurers. All looking to rid themselves of the mind flayer’s tadpole inside their head, you and your new friends have a common goal. Most of the time you spend in this game is with your party members, but how many? We have an answer to what the party size is in Baldur’s Gate 3, so continue reading to find out.
Baldur’s Gate 3: What is the max party size?
If you played the Early Access version of Larian Studios’ Dungeons & Dragons video game RPG, the amount of characters in your party won’t change. The answer to what your party size is in Baldur’s Gate 3 is a maximum of four people. This means that you can only go adventuring and engage in controllable combat with your own character, and three other companions.
Also, if you’re planning to play Baldur’s Gate 3 in co-op multiplayer, the party size is still the same. Although the party size may seem small, you can switch out your companions anytime when you’re in your camp. And sometimes you’ll have companions join you which you cannot control who help you during combat.
How to increase your party size in Baldur’s Gate 3
The only way you can increase your maximum party size is through mods. A website like Nexus Mods holds tons of great mods for games like Baldur’s Gate 3. One example is this ‘Party Size Updated‘ mod by the user ‘josxboxx’, which increases the max size to eight.
Sadly, this mod hasn’t been updated in a while, so you probably want to wait for a fresh update or a different mod when Baldur’s Gate 3 leaves Early Access. Otherwise, there is no in-game way to increase your party size, but downloading and playing with mods is a pretty safe option.
Baldur’s Gate 3 is available on Steam.
