Since the A Rift In Time expansion for Disney Dreamlight Valley, Capybaras have been spotted in Eternity Isle. Here’s all you need to know about them and their favorite food.
Where to find Capybaras in Disney Dreamlight Valley
Capybaras have garnered lots of internet attention in the recent year, due to their adorable looks and their incredibly chilled nature. It’s no wonder the game picked them up and Disneyfied them.
Capybaras can be found in many locations in Eternity Isle. Like other critters, they’ll have different appearances depending on their location. They’re rather easygoing, and are easy enough to spot – especially the more striking ones!
The capybaras spawn in the jungle of the Wild Tangle, and there are different variants depending on their zone in the jungle. This was a strange sight – albeit a welcome one – considering that rainforests are the capybara’s natural habitat. Well, I suppose the magic of the valley thankfully surpasses such things.
Here is a full list of capybara variants and where you’ll find them:
- The Black and White Capybara can be found in the Promenade.
- The Blue Striped Capybara can be found in the Grove.
- The Brown Capybara can be found in the Grasslands.
- The Grey Spotted Capybara can be found in the Lagoon.
- The Red and White Striped Capybara can be found in the Lagoon.
Each of these capybara variants is the same mechanically, differing only in aesthetics. As is usual, two of each will spawn in their regions.

Feeding Capybaras their favorite food
To feed Capybaras and earn Dream Shards, you’ll need their favorite food. Strangely, the Capybaras’ favorite food is bamboo. I suppose that shouldn’t be so surprising, but I had never been introduced to such a thought before now.
Capybaras are very laid back, so all you must do is approach them and feed them the bamboo. They’ll enjoy it, and you’ll earn your Dream Shards. Like other critters, you can only feed them once per day. To befriend them and make them your companion, you must feed them a few times, preferably with bamboo. So keep returning to the Wild Tangle every day with enough bamboo to speed up this process.
Capybaras make an excellent companion, and they’re one to show off if you have your Valley Visits Station running! You’ll be the envy of your friends.
