Anyone hopping into Last Epoch for the first time will probably be confused about what Attunement means, so we’ll explain everything below.
There are plenty of strange and new terms in this action RPG, but once you learn it, you’ll easily understand what this means for your character and build.
Last Epoch: Attunement, explained
What Attunement is in Last Epoch is essentially one of your main character attributes that help augment your amount of Mana. Each Attunement point you have grants you two Mana, which many classes need to cast spells and other skills.
Your Attunement number will modify the amount of Mana you have, as Mana is one of your main character stats. Classes like the Mage will require high Attunement levels to have high Mana. There are different ways you can upgrade your Attunement, such as investing points into your Attunement attribute as you level up.
There’s also the Natural Attunement Passive for Primalists which grants you one Attunement point each time you level it up. And then Mages have Passives that can upgrade your Mana itself, such as Scholar and Wisdom.

But the good thing about upgrading Attunement is that one point gets you two mana instead of just one. Focus on this attribute if your class and build use up a lot of Mana. Otherwise, some of those Passives will upgrade your Mana quite a bit, and you can invest around eight times each.
Another way you can upgrade your Attunement is by imbuing Attunement Shards on your gear. This will add an affix that’ll upgrade your Attunement level while wearing that gear item. You can find Attunement Shards, among other Shard types, randomly from enemy drops. Just keep a look out in your inventory for them.
Now that you know more about how Attunement works, you should also learn about all Ailments in Last Epoch and how they affect you and your enemies.
