Remnant 2 is a big game, with a Campaign that can differ from person to person. Gunfire Games once again uses procedural generation to make every player’s experience unique. The problem that occurs here though is that sometimes you may want to see even more from a particular world. Perhaps the generation that took place wasn’t as cool as the one you’ve seen elsewhere. This is where Adventure mode in Remnant 2 comes into play.
Remnant 2: What is Adventure mode
Adventure mode is unlocked just after you’ve completed you’ve completed your first world. This essentially means you need to beat the final boss of whichever world you first appear in. From that point on, Adventure mode becomes selectable from the World Stone in Ward 13.
In Adventure mode, you can revisit worlds that you’ve already encountered during the Campaign. But this time you’ll get a freshly generated version with the potential of new areas to explore. This is very useful if you’re unable to get an item in the current state of the world during the Campaign. Adventure mode also lets you choose a new difficulty so you can test your skills.
There are some things worth knowing before you try this mode out. First, Adventure mode uses a completely separate save. So you don’t need to worry about this overwriting progress from the Campaign. Second, you can freely jump between the Campaign and Adventure mode from the World Stone at Ward 13. You can do this anytime you want once you’ve unlocked it. And it’s strongly recommended that you at least try out Adventure mode at least once during your playthrough.
You’ve very likely not seen much of the world if you only go through it once. In my experience, I had a location on N’Erud that needed an item to unlock the entrance. But the item didn’t spawn anywhere in my world. So in this scenario Adventure mode became really useful and let me try again as many times as I want.
Adventure mode is a very welcome addition to Remnant 2‘s already staggering amount of content. It potentially makes the game’s replayability nearly limitless. Just make sure you’ve got a few friends to help you out if you decide to crank up the difficulty.
