Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria will have you thrown into dangerous encounters. Either will enemy attacks out and about in Moria, or from a siege.
Sooner or later, you’ll poke around unprepared and death will become less of a threat, and more of a promise. This begs the question, what happens upon death in Return to Moria?
What happens after you die in Return to Moria
In Return to Moria, you will sooner or later come across the fear of death. Whether despair starts to whittle down your health, or whether a large band of goblins come careening your way, you will wonder what the penalty for death is in Return to Moria.
When your health reaches zero, your Dwarf will collapse. This is an opportunity for anyone else you’re playing with to come and rescue you. If you’re playing alone, however, or if everyone else has also collapsed, you may chose to die and reawaken.

When you reawaken, you’ll rise at either the starting point of the game or your claimed bedroll. You’ll take some seconds to get up and you can be on your way again. You will have some brief moments of invulnerability.
A marker of a skull will appear, which will denote the location of all of your stuff, as you will drop everything you’re holding upon death. You can freely go up to it and gather everything dropped. Note that your friends can also access this chest, and that you cannot put items into it.
What if you die during a siege in Return to Moria?
Sieges are stressful events where enemies will enter your camp and will try to kill you and destroy all of your stuff. Some players, like myself, may assume that dying during a siege is a failure of defense, and that an extra penalty will be incurred.
This is not true, as you will spawn back at your bed like normal. The enemies will have some extra time to destroy your belongings, but you can immediately fight them again till you’ve defeated them. So no extra pressure! This is the case for multiplayer and solo games.
I hope this has alleviated you, travelor, although you should try your best not to die anyway. For more Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria help, make sure to check out PC Invasion.
