If you’ve made it past the Goblin Camp and into the Shattered Sanctum, you’ll meet trader Roan Moonglow on the west side. You’ll first need to convince everyone that you aren’t trespassing, but after that, you can get some pretty great weapons and armor from Roah Moonglow. But, what happens to Roah Moonglow after you kill the Goblin leaders in Baldur’s Gate 3?
Note: While Roah Moonglow sells some pretty great items, you should check out how to get the eight best legendary items, weapons, and armor early in Baldur’s Gate 3.
Roah Moonglow in Baldur’s Gate 3, explained
If you don’t attack Roah Moonglow or her friends in Baldur’s Gate 3, they won’t aggro. I played a few encounters where I fought High Priestess Gut in her room and she called Roah Moonglow and her friends to fight me, but if you can avoid that, you can keep Roah Moonglow alive.
You can eliminate all three Goblin leaders without Roah Moonglow or her companions caring. They’ll completely ignore it all. And, in fact, I recommend you keep Roah Moonglow alive because she comes back later in the campaign. Killing her now for a few pieces of gear isn’t worth it.
After you leave the Shattered Sanctum and the Goblin Camp, Roah Moonglow and her companions will leave. In my research, I’ve discovered that Roah Moonglow appears in Act 2 and can sell you even better gear. She’ll also be a part of Jaheira’s quest in Act 3, so keeping Roah Moonglow alive now pays dividends down the road.
If Roah Moonglow does die in Act 1, she’ll likely be replaced by another NPC in Acts 2 and 3. I would bet that you could miss whatever quests and shops are tied to Roah Moonglow altogether if you kill her, so keep her alive, and if she’s already dead, load an old save and try to keep her alive.
Once you get past Act 1, you’ll likely need help defeating Fist Marcus and saving Isobel in Act 2. We have a guide to help you and many more on our main Baldur’s Gate 3 page.
