Just because you could, doesn’t mean you should. But curiosity killed the cat: what does happen if you try to use Depulso, the spell that tosses enemies through the air, on one of the various cats found around populated areas in Hogwarts Legacy? Accidentally using a spell or one of the dangerous plants on an entity is a mistake anyone can make, and not a lot of spells work on living creatures that aren’t enemies. But does Depulso? Does it have any significant effect on the cats? Let’s find out what happens if you use Depulso on cats in Hogwarts Legacy.

So, what happens when you use Depulso on cats?
This.
The answer is: nothing, really. The cat just goes flying and then runs away.
The cat seems to be just fine after running away from the player, thankfully, and acts as if nothing happened if you give it just a moment to relax. This is the case with using most offensive spells as well — they are thrown into the air but run away unaffected. Incendio can set them on fire for a brief moment, but they won’t react to it. It seems these cats are actually indestructible. You could also use Levioso on the cats, to the same effect it has on beasts. The cats will simply float and swim with their paws in mid air.
So fret not, you cannot hurt any of the feline companions in Hogwarts Legacy by using Depulso. Or anything else, for that matter. Satisfaction brought them back.
