Baldur’s Gate 3: Arcane Acuity, explained

Arcane Acuity is a positive status effect that grants you plus one to spell Attack Rolls and Difficulty Class per stack. You can go up to seven stacks of Arcane Acuity, which would mean you’d have plus seven to spell Attack Rolls and Difficulty Class.

Arcane Acuity is a great condition because it allows you to have a better chance at hitting targets with spells. The higher your Attack Roll and DC, the more likely you are to beat your target’s Armor Class and deal damage or hit them with a negative effect.

Stacks of Arcane Acuity get removed with each turn of combat. Generally, you only get Arcane Acuity through armor and items, which I detail below.

Best Arcane Acuity armor and items in Baldur’s Gate 3

  • Gloves of Battlemage’s Power – When a weapon’s Attack Roll inflicts a condition, the wielder gains Arcane Acuity. Found in the opulent chest in the Reithwin Tollhouse in Act 2.
  • Hat of Fire Acuity – When you deal Fire damage, you gain Arcane Acuity for two turns. Dropped by the Strange Ox at Last Light Inn.
  • Hat of Storm Scion’s Power – When you deal Thunder damage, you gain Arcane Acuity. Bought from Araj Oblodra in Moonrise Towers.
  • Helmet of Arcane Acuity – When you deal damage with a weapon attack, you gain Arcane Acuity for two turns. In a chest in the Mason’s Guild in Act 2.
  • Elixir of Battlemage’s Power – Gain increased effectiveness of your spells. You gain three Arcane Acuity. Bought from traders and crafted by combining Suspension of Gauth Eyestalk and any sublimate.

There aren’t many items or armors that grant Arcane Acuity, which keeps it from being a viable condition to make a build around. But if you’re a melee and magic user, you can definitely benefit from Arcane Acuity.

Now you know what Arcane Acuity is in BG3 and how to use it. To make sure you aren’t missing out on any other conditions, you should learn what Reverberation is.
