Modern Warfare 2 (MW2) has a lot of challenges including camo challenges and daily challenges. Understanding all of these challenges is important to streamline the grind and reach the max level as fast as possible. One challenge that crops up often is to get Operator Kills. Here is our guide on what Operator Kills are in Call of Duty: MW2.

What are Operator Kills in Modern Warfare 2 – MW2?
Despite their fancy name getting Operator Kills is actually extremely easy. When Modern Warfare 2 asks you to get Operator Kills, all it is really asking you to do is get regular kills on other players. These kills can be acquired through almost any game mode with any gun.
Some players may be confused as to why the challenge specifies Operator Kills rather than just regular kills. After all, that is how it has worked for just about every other Call of Duty game. This change has been made to accommodate the introduction of PvM in Modern Warfare 2. Unlike its predecessors, MW2 features ranked game modes where you kill bots that reward different EXP and count toward different challenges.
If an MW2 challenge asks you to get Operator Kills, you cannot make progress toward it by killing bots. This means that you shouldn’t rely on PvE game modes like DMZ and Invasion to complete these challenges. Any kills secured in the PvE areas of Warzone 2 — such as the Strongholds — won’t count, either.
Some gun unlock challenges will require you to get X amount of Operator Kills in Y amount of games. To finish these MW2 challenges as fast as possible you can secure the needed Operator Kills and then leave the game straight after. Even if you leave the challenge progress will still count allowing you to unlock new weapons quickly.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is available on PC via Battle.net and Steam.
