Fans of more recent Call of Duty titles will be familiar with the weapon inspect feature. For example, weapon inspection is part of Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, which released in 2018. Additionally, you get to view your camos, weapon charms, and much more from different angles. Even though it does not play a part in the overall gameplay, it is a small feature that many fans enjoy. Recently, Call of Duty developers have hinted that this feature will return to the game, and they will implement weapon inspection into Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. It could be as soon as Season 5.
Teasing weapon inspections
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare developer, Joe Cecot responded to a fan on Twitter. The fan tweeted their completion of the Season 4 ribbon challenges. In addition, the fan asked for some Season 5 intel. In response, Joe Cecot stated, “nicely done. I love to inspect these weapon challenges.”

Reddit has also hinted that this feature is coming. The art director, Joel Emslie seemed to confirm its arrival. However, he did not give much information away. Under the title of the Reddit post, “some good news,” he wrote “weapon inspections- incoming,” which appears to confirm its imminent arrival into Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.
Without confirmation from Activision or Infinity Ward, it is not known when the weapon inspection feature will be available. However, it is understandable that players were led to assume that the weapon inspect feature will be available soon due to this information. Although the tweet and Reddit post suggests that players should expect it in Modern Warfare Season 5, it is unknown if the release will be at the start of Season 5. Instead, it could be part of a mid-season update. It will be interesting to see what your favorite weapons look like from a different perspective.
