Otherside Entertainment teased System Shock 3 in late December of last year. At the time, Otherside was knee deep in their crowdfunded title Underworld Ascendant, which is still currently in development.Â
Today, news broke that Warren Spector, a legendary video game designer who has worked on both the original System Shock and Deus Ex, will be leaving the University of Texas at Austin to become the Studio Director of Otherside Entertainment.
Here’s what Spector had to say:
I’ve loved working with students as Director of the Denius-Sams Gaming Academy in the University of Texas’ Moody College of Communication. But when the opportunity to have a bigger role in bringing Underworld Ascendant to life, as well as playing in the System Shock universe once again, helping to bring these games to a 21st century audience, I just couldn’t say no. Working on System Shock was one of the most fulfilling things I’ve done in my career
System Shock 3Â still has no release date, or any details for that matter. All we have is the same creepy webpage that we did before, but you can sign up for a mailing list now.
