Warhammer 40K: Darktide best Veteran Sharpshooter build guide
The Veteran Sharpshooter in Warhammer 40K: Darktide has the following class perks:
- Ability: Volley Fire – Enter a stance that immediately equips your ranged weapon; designates all non-Ogryn elite and special units as priority targets; deal +50% ranged damage; lasts five seconds.
- Blitz/Grenade: Frag Grenade – Explodes after a short fuse timer.
- Aura: Scavenger – You and nearby allies within the aura gain a small amount of ammo after killing an elite enemy.
- Iconic Perk 1: Make Every Shot Count – +15% weak spot damage.
- Iconic Perk 2: Be Prepared – +40% ranged ammo reserves.
Suggested Loadouts
- Ranged weapon: Bolter or Recon Lasgun – The Bolter is a high-impact weapon that chews through almost all types of enemies easily, making it a top-tier choice. Alternatively, there’s the Recon Lasgun with its ridiculous rate-of-fire, with hardly any recoil.
- Melee weapon: Power Sword – No, you can’t just expect to shoot mobs throughout an entire level. You’re still going to find yourself in the thick of the fray, and nothing is more valuable than the Power Sword thanks to its arcing cleaves.
Feats: 2-2-2-2-2-3
- L5: Exhilarating Takedown (2) – +10% toughness on ranged weak spot kill.
- L10: Tactical Reload (2) – +20% reload speed if your weapon still has ammo. This is viable since you normally don’t even look at your ammo counter before reloading, so speeding up the process can be helpful when you’re in a bind.
- L10: Demolition Stockpile (3) – Replenish one grenade every 60 seconds. This is a good alternative so you’ll often have a grenade with you. It’s also a decent pick if you’re trying to get the Long Bomb achievement.
- L15: Demolition Team (2) – +5% chance for you and allies in coherency to gain a grenade on enemy kills. While the percentage is low, the mere fact that you have a chance to get more grenades is ideal for clearing hordes or stunning elites.
- L15: Bio-Optic Targeting (1) – Volley Fire designates non-Ogryn elites and specialists as priority targets for all allies in coherency. A decent alternative given how many specials you’ll encounter in a level, having this perk can aid you in taking them out.
- L20: Duck and Dive (2) – +20% stamina when you avoid ranged attacks by dodging, sprinting, or sliding. This is the most useful out of all the feats in this column.
- L25: Deadshot (2) – +25% crit chance and 60% sway reduction, but lose 10% stamina per second when you use your weapon’s alt fire. The crit chance bonus alone is amazing, and you won’t need to worry too much about stamina loss since you can easily recover.
- L25: Frag Storm (1) – Frag Grenades apply eight stacks of bleed to all enemies hit. This is a nice feat if you’re going for bleed builds.
- L30: Counterfire (3) – +25% weak spot damage during Volley Fire; designates all Scab shooters as priority targets; duration is refreshed when you kill a designated enemy. This completes the ideal best Veteran Sharpshooter build in Warhammer 40K: Darktide. With it, you can pop your ability, blast the head off a Scab shooter mob, refresh said ability, and retain all the boosts it normally has.
