It’s been a while since we heard of new developments regarding Total War: Warhammer II. Now, eager fans (and practically everyone in Total War‘s subreddit) need not wait too long; Creative Assembly has finally announced the next Lords Pack DLC, The Twisted & The Twilight.
Previous Total War: Warhammer II DLCs have followed a particular trend — two lords from different factions are introduced and are expected to duke it out during the campaign. We’ve seen Markus Wulfhart against Nakai as well as Deathmaster Snikch versus Malus Darkblade. The latest one, of course, was a showdown between Eltharion the Grim and Grom the Paunch. Now, The Twisted & The Twilight DLC presents a battle between Throt the Unclean and the Sisters of Twilight, Naestra and Arahan.
Total War: Warhammer II – The Twisted & The Twilight‘s content
Throt the Unclean leads Clan Moulder in Total War: Warhammer II – The Twisted & The Twilight. The infamous Master Mutator, a lord of Hell Pit, is known for his cruel and depraved experiments.
Combining and stitching various body parts and organs, Throt the Unclean crafts unimaginable monstrosities for the Skaven. Indeed, Ghoritch, his greatest creation, even joins his master. While Ghoritch functions as a hero in an army, Throt the Unclean’s forces will also have the backing of Mutant Rat Ogres, Brood Horrors (giant rats), and more.
The other side, meanwhile, has the long-awaited Wood Elf leaders. The Wood Elves DLC/rework has led to a lot of speculation as to who will be the legendary lords. Now, it’s confirmed that their forces will be led by the Sisters of Twilight, Naestra and Arahan. The two are an inseparable and extremely deadly duo.
The twins actually command a faction known as the Heralds of Ariel. Yes, Ariel, the Queen of Athel Loren herself, will function as a hero in the game. Likewise, Great Stag Knights, the elusive Zoats, and other units also bolster the Wood Elf armies.
Both of the aforementioned factions included in The Twisted & The Twilight DLC will be playable in Total War: Warhammer II‘s Eye of the Vortex and Mortal Empires campaigns. Plus, Drycha, an FLC lord that’s available to all players, will release alongside the DLC. Moreover, Total War Warhammer II – The Twisted & the Twilight brings an Old World update for the Wood Elves. There will be tweaks and improvements to in-game mechanics, unit balancing, and other facets.
Total War: Warhammer II – The Twisted & The Twilight releases on December 3 via Steam. Additional information can be found on the DLC’s official FAQ. Lastly, you can watch the trailer below to see a glimpse of the action.
