Instead of smaller procedurally generated levels, the Plains of Eidolon is a much larger zone which Digital Extremes called a landscape where players can explore the open world. The zone will also include there’s also a town area called Cetus which is an instanced area for up to 50 players. It’s here players can meet and take on quests from NPCs. The new area introduces the Ostron Civilization and more information about the civilisation is revealed as players explore.

There will also be day and night cycles and when it goes dark it becomes a lot more dangerous when the huge Eidolon creatures venture out and the Grineer hide. Players will be able to utilise their Archwing and take to the skies.

A new crafting system is also being added to the Landscape where players will be able to go beyond the mod system and create a new type of Ostron weapon from components.

The new Landscapes feature is a real step up for the hugely popular Warframe and Digital Extremes but keen to keep the game fresh and this seems like a logical step. If this goes down well with players, expect more Landscapes to appear in the future. it does look rather good as you can see from the trailers below.
