Warframe Operation Scarlet Spear and The Deadlock Protocol teased

Warframe: Empyrean expansion teased, full reveal on July 6

During the E3 2019 PC Gaming Show, Digital Extremes revealed a teaser for the upcoming Warframe: Empyrean expansion. The company announced that the expansion will have a full reveal on July 6 At TennoCon. Anyone who has their Twitch and Warframe accounts linked will receive a free Nekros Prime frame for tuning into the stream for at least thirty minutes.

The upcoming expansion will offer four-player PvP, which includes boardable ships and space-flight combat. This expansion is a huge leap forward for Warframe, which has mainly featured third-person, ground-based combat until now. Fans of vehicular, flight combat have a lot to look forward to in the new Warframe expansion.

Take your suit into space with the Empyrean expansion pack

Empyrean was originally code-named Railjack. While the combat specifics are still vague, it looks like you and your team will be able to take to space and fight against another team. Those who aren’t piloting the ship will have other duties, such as putting out fires and other maintenance-type tasks. It looks like Digital Extremes seeks to make the space combat into a cooperative effort, so that the pilot will still require the other two members of the team in order to succeed.

Another notable element is that you and your team will be able to board the enemy ship and try to take them down. This move sounds like an ambitious leap forward for the game, and could bring about an entirely new type of gameplay for players to engage in.

Warframe has seen a handful of updates these last few years, including the recent Jovian Concord expansion, which brought the shadow-conjuring Wisp as the newest playable frame. Digital Extremes has still not given an official release date for the expansion, so players will likely have to watch the TennoCon stream for that info.
