Call of Duty: Vanguard Season Three launched with a new multiplayer map, two new weapons and more. In the Pacific, Operation Monarch is getting ready to go in Vanguard, which will see, erm, Godzilla and King Kong land in Caldera today. Meanwhile, a patch has gone live in Vanguard, which has made some weapon magazine changes and taken some bugs out of multiplayer.
The biggest general change (not including the monster titans) that the Vanguard patch has made is to weapon magazine attachments. So far, low-caliber rounds have been out-shined by high-caliber options. As a result, the fire power of various low-caliber magazine attachments has been increased. A total of nine different assault rifles have seen their low-caliber magazine attachments receive increased damage, with some gaining higher effective damage range penalties and an increased fire rate bonus.
The same can be said for submachine guns, light machine guns, and shotgun magazines. Some of the most notable adjustment include the fan-favorite MP40 and its 7.62 Gorenko 32 Round Mags. The attachment received a 35% damage boost and increased effective damage range penalty, but a decreased fire rate bonus. Also, the newest marksman rifle, the M1916 and its 6.5mm Sakura 20 round magazine has a small 5% damage boost. This change should see low-caliber magazines have a similar time to kill than high-caliber magazines. At the same time, you will be able to reap the rewards of the other benefits these attachment have.
Squashing some bugs along the way
Apart from magazine changes, the Vanguard patch makes sure all sounds made by operators are now silent to enemy players. In addition, a bug has been fixed which caused the trophy systems to destroy the Skal Crusher melee weapon when thrown. In terms of bundles, the bullet impact decal of the Lost Blood blueprint should now work as intended. Similarly, if you own the Junkyard Jet sledgehammer blueprint, a problem where camos would not display has been fixed. If you want to keep an eye on the bugs and glitches Sledgehammer are still working on, check out the Vanguard Trello Board.
Godzilla and King Kong are ready to throw down in the Vanguard Operation Monarch event. It begins today, and runs until May 25. During which, you can collect Monarch Intel and purchase in-game Monsterverse Bundles inspired by film’s most famous monster duo. You can get more info at the event’s web page.
