A hero deserves their rewards. In the hit indie game Valheim, trophies are awarded to the player on kills of enemies and can be used as a way to show off particularly difficult foes. The big bosses also drop trophies, and these have a much more important purpose. Knowing how to use trophies in Valheim can provide power-ups for a distinct advantage in the afterlife.

How to use regular trophies in Valheim
So you have killed your first troll, cut off its head, and somehow lugged it back to your homestead. Obviously, you want to show it off — it’s the head of a troll. You can mount trophies of your fallen foe on the walls in your banquet hall or over the head of your bed with a simple Item Stand.
You will need 1 x Bronze Nail and 4 x Fine wood for an Item Stand. A Bronze Axe will be needed to fell the birch trees for the fine wood, and a forge is required for the nails. Flexing on your teammates is always worth the effort.
How to use boss trophies in Valheim
You may have noticed that the sacrificial stones you started at have hooks and some runes dictating their purpose. Once you have slain a boss you can return to these stones and mount the trophy of the fallen god on their corresponding stone. Make sure it is in your inventory when you approach the stone.
Mounting and knowing how to use the trophy in Valheim will allow you to select that god’s power by pressing the ‘E key’ when the prompt pops up.
Other uses for trophies
- Summoning Eikthyr – You will need a collection of deer trophies to summon the first boss. You won’t need the same for the rest.
- Crafting the Stagbreaker – Five deer trophies are needed for this beast of a weapon.
- Mead Horn of Odin – If you were an early supporter of the game, you can craft the mead horn of Odin with a deer trophy.
