Unravel unspools a February release date

This article is over 8 years old and may contain outdated information

Unravel, Coldwood Interactive’s puzzle platformer, now has a release date of 9 February. That’s when you’ll be able to join little threaded chap Yarny on his quest to overcome environmental obstacles in scenes from the development team’s native Scandinavia.

Yarny can spool sections of his own thread behind himself, so (to take some straightforward examples), it might be necessary to rappel down the side of something or swing across a gap. Bit weird that, it’s like using a piece of your own body as climbing equipment.

Anyway, Yarny doesn’t seem to mind. Unravel is also promising more complex puzzles than that; ones which will make you work “in clever and creative ways to find the path forward”.

There’s a new trailer showing some of this sort of thing, below. Yarny also appears to be hoovering up the fragmented images of people, for some reason (but also rescues a bird, so that’s alright then).

Unravel will cost £15 GBP.
