Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War has introduced a new single player campaign, multiplayer, and zombies experience. Unfortunately for some, the variety of content takes up a lot of space on your PC. This is only set to increase as the game progresses, for example, when Season 1 begins on December 10. Since the release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, fans have found that the franchise is becoming a hefty investment in terms of storage. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone exceed 250GB altogether. As a result, Activision allowed fans to uninstall aspects of the game such as the campaign on both PC and console. Most recently, Infinity Ward introduced on-demand textures streaming to PC to help save disk space.
Similarly, Activision made this uninstall/selective install feature available on PC for the launch of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. It is quite simple to uninstall the modes that you do not want to play. To begin, open your Battle.net launcher and select Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. Then, selecting the options tab will bring down a drop down list. Just click “modify install,” which can be found next to the game content header. Then select the content packs you want to uninstall. Make sure to click confirm at the end to save your choices. Using this uninstall option can easily save you multiple gigabytes of space, while still allowing you to enjoy your favorite content in Black Ops Cold War.
Do you regret uninstalling?
If you change your mind, you can always re-install content again. All you have to do is follow the same steps and select the modes you would like to re-install. Perhaps Activision will roll out new ways to save your PC storage in the future. There is still a lot more content to come in the future. As outlined in the roadmap, the iconic Nuketown map will be returning on November 24. In addition, the integration between Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and Call of Duty: Warzone is set to begin with the launch of Season 1.
