We were excited at the prospect of a new game from Undead Labs but we’ve been slightly deflated.

Last week Undead Labs teased that a new game would be announced today and it has, it’s called Moonrise. Here’s the kicker PC game fans, the game is for mobile devices. I would stop writing here but I’ll tell you about it anyway so you’re informed.

The game is a creature collection RPG described as follows:

“It’s a fun romp through a gorgeous 3D world of ancient ruins and magical creatures, with deep, real-time strategic combat, full character and creature customization, and real-time online play with your friends.”

“We’re a gamer-focused studio with a great console pedigree,” said Strain. “And Kabam is a world-class publisher focused on delivering console-quality games on mobile devices. It’s a perfect match.”

Despite this new game coming to mobiles, it looks like State of Decay is set to continue as Jeff Strain comments further on the future of the IP:

As we prepare to release Moonrise and continue development on the future of State of Decay, this is more true than ever

There’s a site up for Moonrise now in case you do want to find out more, but it’s good to see  State of Decay will continue. Who knows, it might expand into something more ambitious like an MMO.

Right! Nothing to see here, move along.
