Once again the UK chain, Blockbuster has been thrust into finanical difficulties following another poor period of sales. The high street video/games rental company were bought by Gordon Brothers Europe in March, having gone into administration in the turn of the year.
After this news a customer who – we assume – has ordered a next-gen console from them turned to twitter as whether the company will be fulfilling the pre-orders that have been made. The company replayed, “We are sorry that you will be disappointed and that we can’t fulfil any Xbox One or PS4 pre-orders at this time,”
They have also gone on to give instructions via their social media outlets on how to get help regarding the matter saying. “To claim a full refund of your pre-order, please write to: Blockbuster, Harefield Place, The Drive Uxbridge UB10 8AQ. Please include your name, the branch where the order was made, order number and a copy of the receipt that was given when the order was placed.” Before adding, “We are once again very sorry to not be able to provide customers with Xbox One or PS4 consoles, but we will refund all validated pre-orders.”
You can also go to the Blockbuster Facebook page to seek more help.
Blockbuster will continue trading while they sought out a buyer for the company.
Thanks, Eurogamer.
