Snake slithers his way into first place this week as Metal Gear Solid 4 makes its entrance as captive as a dancing cobra.  This then pushes down last week’s first and second holders to second and third, with GTA IV slipping two weeks on the trot.

Mario and Sonic will need more than brawn to fight off the good doctor who has managed to climb an astounding seven places this week to fifth, while Sports Island has taken a cheeky six places and landed in eighth.  Throw in two more new entries in the shape of Civ and Wii Fit and you have yourself a top ten.

Nothing to write home about in the bottom half, all the new games this week have found their way to the top ten, but significant movers are Ninja Gaiden II and Mario Kart Wii, both dropping nine places while Call of Duty 4 has slipped out of the top ten for the first time since the middle of May.
