The decision to give away Assassin’s Creed III for free seems to be taxing Ubisoft’s server capacity, affecting other aspects of the company’s services. That is, unless something more nefarious is causing problems for Ubisoft’s online aspects today.
Those attempting to nab Connor’s one and only outing as an Assassin’s Creed protagonist are running into difficulties, and it’s also preventing people signing up for the Ghost Recon: Wildlands beta. Titles like Steep, which are ‘always online’ due to the way their multiplayer functions, have been refusing connections too.
In response, Ubisoft support say “We are aware of an intermittent disruption to a number of online services.” Those investigations are ongoing, there’s little else to do but wait for them to be resolved.
We are aware of an intermittent disruption to a number of online services. We please ask for your patience whilst we investigate.
