Looks like Ubisoft’s troublesome Skull and Bones is nearly ready to make sail, as the developer is holding a gameplay reveal for it this week. On July 7, the company is at last showing off its latest “Ubisoft Original.” Gameplay, developer interviews, and a “unique take on piracy” are what’s on the docket for the stream.
And it’s really about time. Skull and Bones has been in the works for nearly a decade, and this week will mark the second time it gets revealed. This re-reveal was apparently sniffed out last week by GamesRadar, which reported that Ubisoft was ready to showcase the game once more. Hopefully, things work out this time.
The Skull and Bones gameplay reveal event starts this Thursday. You can watch it over at Ubisoft’s YouTube channel. It begins at the peculiar time of 1:45 PM ET with a pre-show “full of surprises.” After the pre-show, Ubisoft will begin the stream proper, with “new gameplay, our unique take on piracy, and exclusive behind the scenes with developers.”
Hard to port
Skull and Bones‘ re-reveal will at last shed some more light on the game. The main draw of the online multiplayer game should still be the same as always, however. In Skull and Bones, you play as an up-and-coming pirate captain, working your way from simple ship to mighty fleet. There are enemies, ranging from the government to other pirates, to fight and fortresses to conquer. And, according to the game’s description, the game will have seasons with “new challenges” and stories.

Skull and Bones doesn’t have a release date yet, but rumors state it may arrive this November.
