Ubisoft Comments on Future Soldier Delay

This article is over 14 years old and may contain outdated information

During the recent Ubisoft financials, Ubisoft revealed that Ghost Recon: Future soldier would not be released this holiday season, but instead would be pushed back to early next year. Today’s update also confirms the delay of any Beta test period prior to launch. Just to make sure fans of the series understand exactly what’s going on, Ubisoft’s Kimi posted a quick statement on the delay.”Ubisoft recently announced that Ghost Recon: Future Soldier will now be released in early 2011. While we would love nothing more than to bring you the game we’ve been working hard on earlier rather than later, it would only be a disservice to both the community and to our team to release GRFS before it is ready. Being granted more time means that we will now have more time to work on final tweaks and polish, and there is certainly nothing wrong with that!””Concerning the beta, it will be delayed in-line with the game but will still definitely happen. We made the decision to delay it in order to bring you a more polished beta so your feedback would focus more on gameplay, less on bugs.” Yves Guillemot cited the reason for the delay as: “Due to a very competitive environment, we decided to move the game out of the Christmas quarter”.
