Ubisoft has stated that by expanding the Assassin’s Creed product line, it will encourage sales of the recently-released sequel. Not content to rely on high review scores, Ubisoft recently released a novel, Assasin’s Creed Renaissance as well as a series of promotional films, called Lineage.Brand manager Jan Sanghera believes that expanding the product range will maintain the game’s high profile. “Releasing the book and film helps to enrich our product offering,” she told MCV.“They help to increase awareness and interaction with the Assassin’s Creed franchise.”It seems the success of Lineage – which amassed over 1.7 million views on YouTube in 24 hours – has encouraged the company to examine new ways of promoting games.“Assassin’s Creed: Lineage is Ubisoft’s first film project,” Sanghera added.“However, as mentioned, the company has ambitions to become an entertainment provider. Therefore, we hope to explore other media options and may potentially use cinema for future projects.”Check out our review of the game here and find out about the recently-announced DLC here.
