Sega has announced that Two Point Hospital will be receiving a new co-op feature soon. Called the “Superbug Initiative,” this new update will allow friends and strangers to cooperate and take down new viruses. Playing from your personal hospitals, you’ll work towards brand new unlocks and rare items to increase hospital efficiency. The game will present a series of challenges to players that require them to complete specific tasks.
As the trailer below hints, you’ll do things like collecting ghosts, curing certain viruses, or cleaning hallways. After finishing, players will unlock nodes that start brand new challenges for each other. Each completed node will grant the players new items, pushing them along to keep doing better.

To access the update, you’ll need to opt-in to the beta from your Steam library. To do that, right click on Two Point Hospital, click properties, click the beta tab, then select the “twopointhospital_patch_beta” from the drop-down menu. If you’d rather wait for the official release, it will be pushed out to all owners of the game on April 30. Sega is teasing further updates to this mode, which will likely include more challenges and unlockable items.
