Tricks to get around while being overweight in Palworld

Float like a butterfly, weigh like a whale.

In Palworld, becoming overweight and not being able to move is not something you want to see, and mostly is a result of a much-needed resource run. However, there are a couple of great tricks for getting around while not being able to move.

How to move whilst overweight in Palworld

Let me be clear, moving while overweight in Palworld is still long, tedious, and rather frustrating. However, they sure are better than not moving at all.

The Grappling Gun

Firstly, probably the most compelling method, Grappling Guns still propel you to where you point them, even when overweight. The better Grappling Gun you have, the further you’ll be able to with every use. I find Grappling Guns somewhat annoying and tedious to use, but when simply scaling flat ground to get somewhere, they’re not too bad.

Just don’t try to climb, because you can’t. If you end up getting stuck in the climbing position when grappling around, the best thing to do is try to jostle yourself free. Even though you won’t go anywhere, your Stamina will still deplete. Once your Stamina is down, you’ll fall off the cliff. I hope you don’t have far to fall…

Riding Kingpaca

Let me start by saying that no, you cannot fully ride Kingpaca as you normally would when overweight. However, its signature move, Kingly Slam, not only moves you forward but allows you to jump quite high. If you have the patience, you could keep using that move again and again to get to where you want to go.

Kingpaca can easily be fought and captured as a Field Boss not too far North from the starting location.

Be careful, however, as this is an attack, and if you hurt and local Pal, they will attack you. Just be careful where you land.

I have tried to get other Pals to move through their attacks, but nothing has panned out. Eikthyrdeer’s exclusive Antler Uppercut move would usually allow them to charge at an insane speed for a great distance. However, not even this attack allows movement when you’re overweight.

How to increase Weight capacity in Palworld

You can thankfully increase your carrying capacity in Palworld a couple of ways.

Increasing the Weight stat when you level up allows you to carry 50 kg more weight, which is a great increase. If you don’t want to spend too many levels on this stat alone, however, then there is another, albeit temporary, way.

Some Pals can increase your carrying capacity as long as they’re on your team. Some will require a piece of Pal Gear to be crafted for this to come into effect.

For example, having a single Cattiva on your team will increase your Weight by 50 kg. So a team of five results in an extra 250 kg of carrying capacity! Kingpacas double your Weight capacity. So a team of five Kingpacas, provided you’ve got the saddle for them, can increase your capacity by 500 kg. Note that these are Passive Skills, and can be leveled up in the Pal Essence Condenser to be even better.
