Train2Game has announced that it is opening a Games Artist and Animator course. The Games Artist and Animator course starts with the basics of Photoshop and 3D Studio Max, moving onto low and high polygon modelling, texture creation, and application techniques, before getting onto the complicated business of animating it all. This being Train2Game, students can learn at home in their own time, and they have phone and email support seven days a week as well as some hands-on time with industry tutors. Completion nets students a TIGA Games Artist and Animator diploma, and by that point they’ll likely have plenty of portfolio work to show off, which is apparently pretty important. The Games Artist and Animator course joins the currently available Games Designer and Games Developer courses which are supported by UK games trade body TIGA, created with games developer DR studios, and have had course content reviewed by Portsmouth University and Bedfordshire University – the latter of which uses Train2Game content in its own games dev courses. The Games Artist and Animator course will be available from 19 April.
